St.-Saviour's Cathedral

St.-Saviour's Cathedral is Bruges' oldest parish church (12th-15th century). All that remains of the Romanesque church is the base of the front tower. In about 1200 a brick tower was built on top of the fieldstone base. The cathedral is the only Gothic church in Bruges which bears the marks of some French influence. The twelve-part windows are unusually large, and indicate an English influence.
